Geraldine Bailey-Hines was born in Wedowee, Alabama to Willie and Josephine Bailey. She is the sixth child in a family of ten and used her imagination to amuse herself. Growing up in the 60as in a household of ten, toys were few and usually passed down until they were no longer be useable. She spent most of her younger years in Anniston, Al at Cobb High School and later at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. The inspiration for this novel came late one night while sitting under the night stars with her husband Darian; outside their home they discovered lights in the night sky. At first, they thought the lights were twinkling stars. Like magic, the lights started to move, their first reaction was to run but they did not, when they moved the lights would move in the same direction. Then the lights stop moving, pausing directly in front of them, giving the appearance that if they reach out, they could touch them. They stared for what felt like hours watching the lights dance back and forth. They tried to tell others about their experienced but no one would believe them. For the next few years, that night stayed on her mind. She dedicates this book to her husband Darian Hines, her son Darian GerRaud Bailey Hines for all their help and support and especially her niece Farris Simmons for her editorial efforts.
