There are two brothers who fight crime. They left New York to try to help a place in Hackensack, New Jersey. There were many gang wars down there. Mike, the older brother, is married and has two children. Devon is their son and Lynn is their daughter. Devon starts out as a good boy, then ends up in a gang. Lynn is not sure what is going on. They are a happy family. Then you have Joe; he is dysfunctional and depressed over his girl, Cindy, who died in an accident. Then there was a little girl who jumped to her death on Joe. Now he is going mad and drinking a lot more and losing his mind. He was strong; he was a black belt. Joe was in some kind of fight all the time. This is a very good book to readagive it a shot.
