Willie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1969. He graduated from Henry Snyder High School in Jersey City. He went on to receive an associateas degree in business from Middlesex Community College in Edison, New Jersey, and a BS in business administration from William Paterson College, now William Paterson University, in Wayne, New Jersey. Throughout his life, he has always had a passion for helping others. In the summer of 2004, he found himself doing community work in Harlem, New York. His motivation: do whatever you can to lift up our people. The essays in this book are written with that in mind. It is his hope that someone will read one of the essays and make a positive change in his or her life.
